CO2 + ferts + crypts = major meltdown

I had been not dosing my low light (15w) 10 gallon, and had let the CO2 run out. It went well for a while but lately I had been getting some algae and cyano, so I tested nitrate and not surprisingly there was none. So I added a tiny bit of CSM+B, and got the CO2 going again. I didn't get to see the tank for the last few days (got home after the lights were off) but I saw it last night and 75% of the crypts have completely melted, it looks like plant carnage in there! Tonight I'll have to vacuum out what's left and hope they grow back, the only thing that still looks OK is the Java fern and the cyano

Crypts certainly do like to do that to us. They're just complaining about the sudden change in water conditions. I'm sure they'll perk up soon and look better than ever.

I was just surprised that they melted so badly with what I thought was a small change....thought I'd pass on my experiences!
