I have a 29 gallon tank that I am making a planted tank. It is early cycle dosed with ammonia to 4 ppm. I have a finnex planted+ 24/7 light running on the factory cycle. My ph averages 6.8. I have caribsea floramax substrate at 2 inches deep average. No nitrates or nitrates at this point. I added fertilizer tabs and hit it with a shot of prime to stabilize my well water. Our water is fairly acidic with a lot of dissolved minerals. The tank stays at 76 degrees. I do not have an adjustable heater. I'm running g a canister filter that moves 170 gph (actual measurement with pressure equipment). No c02.

I planted lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae. I want it to carpet the tank if possible. Do I need to trim the grass or let it be? It is now 1 day planted.
