Could i put soil over sand

Very new to all this, im wondering about long term effects.Id like to put a thin layer, maybe 1/4 inch sand, place my 2 rocks, then add soil, and another thin layer of gravel. Would this cause any long term problems?

Are you needing to get the rocks settled in?

In what I have seen you could just add the sand to settle in your stone in just the areas you want the stones to be.

Have you seen any videos from Dustins Tanks? He is the king of dirted tanks.

Here's one in case you didn't get to it. Over the years he has mentioned many more in videos. Dirted tanks are not my thing - too dirty, lol, really just too much dirt getting kicked up the way I do things. But maybe a dirted pond someday.

This one adds the sand barrier and that is a really nice feature.

Go to Search at the top of the posts section (below the top of the page), and not the thread search.

Click and scroll towards the bottom and it says search pics
try "soil" as your key /tag word,
dirted tank soil substrate didn't seem to be it.

All threads and photo albums have tags, you can add appropriate ones to make it more searchablefor key points at the bottom yourself, sometimes the tags are not descriptive. The computer system does it automatically.
