if pumping pure co2 into the tank during the day is the way to do it.

would pumping pure oxygen from a tank be the best way to do it instead of air from a pump? would it be more beneficial for my tank/plants/fish?

i know that its sufficient but would pure oxygen be better?

NO - O2 has a limited ability to dissolve into water, the water gets saturated pretty much with air. The air stone basically agitates the water surface to promote air exchange with the air at the surface, what gas you use in the stone really don't matter that much.

You might be able to super-saturate with O2 if you can trap the O2 in the air space above the tank, but that is not really needed, as fish do just fine at normal O2. <Also, trapping pure O2 is NOT wise - A spark from your light at 100% O2 will cause an explosion ....>

heck often a air pump isnt even needed. a simple hob for the most part gets plenty of o2 into the water. like the others said no reason to add pure o2 into the water.
