Any sissors will work, just dry them off well after using. Stainless steel sissor are good as they don't rust.

Some people use pretty impressive (and expensive) long handled metal tools for aquarium chores, but I've always used super-tacky craft scissors.

I use those expensive 24" long sissors and tools which IMO are the best thing in the world for really big deep tanks. For smaller tanks I just use regular sissors which actually work better than long handled ones which are actually kind of ackward to use even after you get the hang of using them.

The stems even on big swords are pretty soft so regular sissors work just fine. When you do snip them cut the stems off as close to the crown as you can so you don't have stem pieces sticking out all around the sword.

I use my wifes sewing scissors. SSShhhh:rolleyes:

I also use her toothbrush to scrub the algae off the leaves.

I bought a cheap longhandled pair of nail scissors at a local pharmacy. They're nice and sharp, and don't get used for anything else.
