I have some Riccia that I just bought for my tank, but it's loaded with snails! I've done the bleach thing with other plants big I've read that it doesn't do good for Riccia.... What is the best way to get rid of them? Oh and on anacharis as well! :thanks:

well if you have time you could pick them out 1 by 1. haha

I tried that... It didn't work out too well. But I did get like 10 or more gone:). Now the Riccia is in an extra 1g bowl. I'm going to let the snails get out of the Riccia and then take them out. I'll probably let it be in there for 2 or so weeks. That should get all the snails & snail eggs out, right?

I may hve to be doing some desnailing soon. Glad I found this thread also. My 8g RCS tank is getting infested!

Another way to de-snail is by adding assassin snails. It's a snail that preys on other snails, totally safe for plants and fish and you can usually get them at any decent aquarium store or even online.
