I've been using RO on my discus tank with RO right and discus essential. I am going to purchase an RO/DI unit for them and my reef tank.

If I use the additives and start to dose for my plants is that okay? I know the DI part makes a difference in freshwater

As long as you are properly reconstituting the water, it shouldn't be a problem. What KH/GH are you maintaining? Also, double check to ingredients in your GH booster to make sure that it includes Ca and Mg.

I do not test my GH. I should I know but just never did. It should be soft because I use RO and the proper amount according to the directions on RO Right with each water change. It claims it elevates it between 50 and 125 I believe.

I have never used tap water on this tank ever either
