My DIY co2 is is set up with 2 124oz gatorade containers, silicone tubing, brass T-barb, standard plastic check valve, DIY co2 reactor.

I don't have a bubble counter. I was thinking about making an inline one, as I don't want another bottle in the cabinet. I am thinking about using a 6" length of 5/8" ID vinyl hose (1/4" thick walls) with brass hose barbs on each end. I'm going to place the bubble counter a couple inches after the check valve, before the airline enters the reactor. I'll fill it about 3 inches with a high-KH, dechlorinated solution and fix in a vertical position.

The only question I have is if I will lose any CO2 through the vinyl walls of the tubing used for the bubble counter. Anyone know?

Ok. New plan.

I'm just going to stick the clear piece of a 5ml oral syringe over the out end of my check valve, fill with ~3ml of water, connect airline to tip of syringe. Problem solved.
