Can I run co2 into a protein skimmer via he venturi hose to use the tornado effect inside to help diffuse the co2? This would keep the co2 bubbles in constant contact with thewater for prolonged periods of time. Maybe allowing a 20 oz canister to run longer? Or would the circulation of the water diffuse to much back into the air when returning to the tank via the overflow? I have a seaclone 200 protein skimmer. I was thinking this may make a great diffuser?

I have a major lack of knowledge when it comes to saltwater stuff so bare with me, but aren't protein skimmers open to atmoshere. ie wouldn't the CO2 be off gased just as fast as you are injecting it. I assume this because the sludge gets pured out into another container.
