DIY Root Tab balls

Mebbid has done an excellent thread on root tab caps but I was thinking of trying DIY root tab clay tabs. It's into summer here so I was going to try sun baking them.

Plan was to use some existing dark soily clays I have for the caps and just wet, add ferts and roll tabs somehow.

I was wondering if anyone does this (or another way) and any tips that could be thought of. I've thought of getting a mold but not sure.

The ru tabs from peabodies paradise are made with clay. There is a video on how to make them floating around as well on the interwebs. Ill try to findnit wgen i get home.

I do this with mexican potting clay, ferts, etc... Works great.
