I must say that there are a few influences on this build. There is:

1. Brookster
2. Brain_Nano
3. Fresh2O
4. Sk3lly

and there are many more. let the build begin!

My intent is to build an Asian type tank, complete with 1 betta, stones, DHG, and whatever else you guys recommend. This is my first dirt attempt!

Totally subscribing to see how this turns out! Sounds like my Betta tank need an upgrade ?

I love my fish!!!

Thanks, I have been watching "The Green Machine" videos on YouTube, looking at Brian_nano's and Brookster's tank builds and that gave me the motivation to do this. I am going to attempt an Iwagumi? I'll give it my best shot!

I attempted an iwagumi'esque tank for my Betta and the plants flopped so I Got a better light and am trying it over.
The rockwork turned out alright but no plants now except for Dwl for Betta security lol

I love my fish!!!

I think the Finnex will support DHG. I also plan on building somewhat of a hill, so the PAR should be OK. Me thinks.

UPDATE:
OK, I opened up a Photobucket account because Tapatalk will not let me post photos on occasion. I plan on taking photos for this build mainly for guidance and suggestions. So, Hopefully these photos can be opened.

I think the Finnex will def be enough on a 10 gal. They're pretty short. Can't wait to see how it turns out and grows out!

I love my fish!!!

Yep, the finnex planted plus will def. Grow dhg in your tank... atleast the light won't be the limiting factor anyways!! That list you created... based on persuasivness to part you with hard earned money on lighting and co2??

I know right. But I work so much, my tanks are my getaway!

Yup. That's me too.. it's hard to limit yourself to substandard products when the monies are there hehe (still not paying $35 in shipping on substrate though)

Yeah, I read your post on the ADA..I was hoping that you were gonna go for it! :) But, I guess I'll take one for the team! Besides, Sk3lly recommended it.

OK, I did a little work on the substrate today:
Substrate additives (Penac W, Penac P, Bacter 100, tourmaline BC, Clear Super):

Substrate Holders made from flexible cutting mats from Bed, bath, and Beyond with Power Sand added:

Aqua Soil Malaya added:

Stone layout that I am considering:

As soon as I decide that i like the stone layout, I'll put the powder on top of the soil.
