I setting-up a new 90 Gal tank. I took down my previous 55 gal when I moved. I bought some driftwood that was labeled Malaysian Driftwood and started the process of sitting the pieces in boiling water. The was almost none of the typical brown dye liberated. It has been sitting in a deep tub and no brown water has resulted. These pieces are also sinking to the bottom of the tub. They do not have the smooth surface or dense feel of bog wood, but I don't think I will have to weigh them down. Of course I am happy about all this. Is there something special about Malaysian wood?
