How long does it take to change the color of the CO2 drop checker?

Depends on the device. 15min to an hour depending on design.

Out of curiosity, whats the solution thats in there? It looks really dark.

Use a 4 dkh solution and pH drops. The co2 solutions they come with are almost always garbage.

Drops of the pH test solution (low range, not high).

aqua_chem how do you personally measure out your 4 dkh? I've heard of it being done a few different ways.

I bought mine awhile back from another hobbyist. That being said, you can make your own really easy if you have access to a scale by weighing it out, and a little less easily but still doable if you just have the KH test kit.

Yes I just bought a drop checker with the same solution. It didn't work. So I bought some 4dkh of ebay and used ph test solution like aqua chem said and it works beautifully! Aqua chem knows his stuff!

Yeah I got the stuff from the guy from Florida. It works great too! And I would use regular low oh solution still. With dosing the correct amount of co2 your ph should go down.

Okay I put 5 drops of ph solution, and filled the bell half full with 4dkh. Do not put any aquarium water in there. It will mess it up. Only ph solution and 4dkh solution.
