Eel

Have a 40 gallon that is cycling, and i was wondering if there were any ideas for freshwater eels (i know there not really eels) that would work. Was going to get
2 angelfish
7 glolight tetras
1 bn pleco
1 featherfin catfish

Any suggestions if any?

I don't think so, a 40 maybe a little to small for an eel as well as the feather fin.

Really? I read that 40 was sufficiant but barely online..

Eels I guess it would depend on the type but feather fins get 6-8" I'd say a no go on a 40 for them.

Got it. What about some loaches? Gold weather loach be good? Dont some need soft substrate because have live plant gravel

Smaller loaches may work, I would also consider cories.

Eh didnt want cories, juat a couple cooler ground feeders. Bn plecos would work though right? And do featherfins swim around alott thats why they need a bigger tank? Bec my 40 is pretty long

I would look around online for smaller catfish then. My featherfins were always on the move, most active during the night.

Ohh ya so mostly nocturnal? What size tank is yours?

I had mine in a 55 with some peacocks.

Yea they will school, they will get about 3-4 inches.

Those are awesome. Are they common at all?

Yea they are fairly common, a mom and pop local fish store should have them.
