I now have plastic plants but I'm thinking about getting some live ones.
I have small pebble type substrate, it's not the tiny stuff but little larger pebbles. Will this be okay for live plants?
My tank was set up on 12/24. Should I wait until it's done cycling?
Where do people buy their plants? I don't see too many plants at Petsmart or Petco.

Thanks

You can buy plants online, like peabodys paradise, bobstropicalplants or on the classified section of this forum?

Plants help with the cycle so go ahead and add them. I get mine at the big box stores, a small mom and pop shop and online. Jetajockey sells plants thru the website Peabody's Paradise

What type of lighting is on your tank? What's the tank size?

I've been keeping fish for years but still consider myself a beginner with plants. I have a 5g kit that I'm very proud of but they're simple plants: najas grass around a nano tree, java fern, anubias, floating Brazilian pennywort.

My 16b has basic gravel substrate; I did upgrade the bulb from full spectrum to floramax. It has dwarf sag, vans, ludwigia, crypts, moneywort.

My plants are from Bob's, Han Aquatics, or eBay.
