Filler Sand as substrate?

I went to the local shop and was looking for the pool sand. It said on line they had it, but once I got there, they had none. I did find filler sand PAVESTONE 0.5 cu. ft. Sand Paver Base (Step 1) - 98001 at The Home Depot Would that work for my 10 g planted tank? Or should I take it back and try to find the pool sand.

I used Red Flint in my 72 and it seems to be doing ok.

Sorry for two posts. I heard that the paver sand settles pretty tightly. Not sure if that is what you are looking for though.

Red Flint looks really nice in the pictures. I have their gravel and assume it is the same color.

The sand I got is a darker brown, I mixed it with a small gravel for something for my plants' roots to grow into. My starter plants seem to be doing well.
