My CO2 system is on its way. YAY!

Couple questions

I plan on getting it filled at my local welding shop.

How much should I expect to pay for the 5lb fill?

About how long will it last in a 60g high light?

Are ther other places besides a welding supply store where I can get it filled?

airgas is where I fill mine (check airgas.com for a local shop) - hydroponics stores sometimes also fill them.

for a 5lb, you could probably expect around $10-$12 I believe. I have a 10lb and pay $16ish to fill it and I know the prices arent too different between the two.

As for how long it will last... I have no idea - it is very dependant on the rate you are running it and and for how long per day it runs... I'm sure someone can give you a ballpark figure around here :)

yeah, anywhere from $10-$15 most likely...half of that is their hazmat fees and taxes alone.

places that sell keg'd beer may also refill your CO2 cylinder.

as to how long it lasts...too many variables. 2 months to a year....just depends on how much CO2 you have to pump into the tank to hit your desired levels.
Soft water and a pH controller make CO2 last longer.

I have mine filled at the local paintball place.........they wont fill anything larger than a 5lb.
