Fluval stratum help?

Can I cap fluval stratum with anything? Or cap another substrate with fluval stratum have a 4.4 lb bag not enough for my 10 g but I don't want to buy more stratum. To expensive plus its to light to plant anything.

I have the stratum and love it. I have it in my first planted tank and have no problems planting in it. Had one or two 'floaters' but planted them back down further in the substrate. Personally I wouldn't cap it but I suppose you could do sand or gravel underneath.....
