I have a 20G planted tank. I was keeping a colony of shrimp in it and they were doing well, at least until I stupidly added in a fertilizer that I now know had a small amount of copper in it. I don't have any living shrimp left, just the plants.

I want to remove the copper from the system and put some more shrimp in there to try and start a new colony. If I just do a 100% PWC before adding them, will that be OK, or do I need to change out my filter material and start that process over again?

I've heard a lot of good things about SeaChem's Cuprisorb. I friend did something similar in her tank and she was able to keep shrimp again after running it for a while.
