I am being overrun! I have so much that my plants and rocks are beginning to look like a bad 80's band, now what? I was buying ottos to put in my planted 15 gal. but then heard they won't touch the hair algae. Is there any thing else I can do besides dose with the chemical I bought (one that was plant safe, forgot who makes it). What is the deal with Phos X? I thought I remember reading that algae can be a result of too high a level of phosphates. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Siamese Algae Eaters are the kind of hair algae.

The chemicals are bad news and a short term fix, best of all, find what's feeding the algae (overfeeding/overdosing of fert/etc.).

SAE's (true ones)
Flag fish
Ameca Splendens
**rumor* farrowellas
Those are 3 confirmed hair algae eaters and one rumor.
