So I was told during the day turn my bubble wands off it helps plant growth but now I have very little surface agitation is that ok

Are you running co2?

If you have too much surface agitation, the co2 will out-gas(will seek to equalize with atmospheric co2 levels, which are much lower than the 30ppm that is normally recommended).

No co2 yet next week is it still ok with having little surface agitation

The only thing that I can think of is if your tanks co2 concentration is less than atmospheric co2 concentration, then agitation would benefit the plants.

But, to be honest, I'm unsure of what the typical concentration would be in a heavily planted aquarium as compared to atmospheric co2.

Hopefully someone else will have a better answer.

Unless you are overstocked on fish I think you are fine with or without the wand. Once you get CO2 then it will be a factor.

I don't use airstones in my tanks and my fish are fine.

The pearling does not occur on every plant and will only happen should the light and co2 be perfect. Or when the sun shines directly on the plant, I see tons of pearling.

I don't. I'm not using CO2. Pearling is the plants releasing excess O2. Occasionally I'll get a plant apparently gleefully pearling on it's own.

With high light and lots of CO2 some folks see pearling. Some do not and have perfectly healthy tanks.

My tanks are Low Tech. Low light, no CO2, very little algae or work.
