Anybody ever try using house plants in their tank. Just a curious question. I remember people at my office having betta bowls with phylodenron and golden pothos roots growing in to the bowl. So it got me thinking what about doing that in an actual tank? Is it safe for the fish?

I used to have a huge Golden Pothos growing down the side and front of my 220g tank with the roots in the water. There are many household plants that can be used. Basically any house plant that can be rooted in water can get used. Here is a great way many people use house plants.... Planted HOB thread..

Wow I love that HOB!!!!!! That is the coolest thing ever! I am so doing that I have a wondering jew that I can do that exact same thing with!

I have pothos vine, an ivey, and 3 pond plants in my 20 long. Be careful with plnting the hob you dont want to burn the filter out if the roots get into the impeller.
