With the heat wave in Midwest my tank has fluctuated 3 degrees daily. How much temperature fluctuation can a tank endure? I'm aware some disease can be introduced from large fluctuations. I'm not ready for the AC yet. Please advise?

3 degrees is nothing, I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of fish species endure large swings daily in the wild. Granted, most of the fish we keep are far removed from the wild, but still.

The tank temperature is usually a few degrees cooler than the room temp, and the larger the volume of water, the longer it takes for the temperature to shift.
