How many bags CaribSea Floramax do i need?

Hi all,

There is no online substrate calculator for Floramax as there is with eco complete.

My fish tank is around 35 gallons: 36" (length) x 14" (width) x 16" (height).

How many bags of floramax (midnight black) should I buy to get around 2 inches depth in the tank? It comes in 12lb bags.

You'll need 3 bags to make 2". OS.

I just bought some of this over the weekend. Bought one bag (Black) over flourish becuase it was red. Anyway in my 20 tall 24'' long 12'' wide I used 1 bag with pool filter sand. Doing this gave me a depth of 2''.

Thanks for the replies.

I actually went to my LFS and purchased 2 bags of eco complete fine instead.

It was only like $8 more per bag for eco complete. 2 bags should be ok for me since my tank is only 16 inches tall and i don't want too much depth.
