How many plants in a 20gal?

I'm setting up a 20 gal tank I'd like to do live plantings. I'm using florite and want low-light plants like java fern and anubius. How many plantings should I get for my tank? 3 java ferns and 3 anubius? More? Less?

I'd like the fish I get to have some cover, but not feel crowded in the tank.

Sibley, I think you could get by with 3 of each (depending on the variety of anubias... some are much larger than others). Both plants are slow growers, especially under low light, so you may want to pick up a couple more ferns. It is all about what look you want for your tank, and whether or not you have the patience to wait for them to grow out
