How the heck do you light a 2.5 gallon betta tank with live low light plants?
Hi guys,
How the heck do you light a 2.5 gallon betta tank with live low light plants?
I mean if I put the 10 watt cfl bulb I bought, wouldn't that be too much light? I won't be using CO2.
Wouldn't that create an algae farm in my little tank?
Thanks,
Patty

I wouldn't think so.
I used a Finnex clip on for a while on a 2.5g. And of course you can always raise the light which lowers PAR.

What he said.
Raising the light is very effective.
I mostly hear of 9W CFLs being sold but I think you can find 7W also.
But yeah, just raise it. I'd say at least 15 inches from the substrate, which--depending on your reflectors--should put you where you want to be.

Wal-Mart sells a 5 watt CFL. That's what I use on my 2.5.
