I have had plants in my 36 gallon tank about 2 weeks. I have 3 java ferns and 1 anubias. the roots of the anubias have really grown, reaching to the top of the leaves. i've included a picture, which isn't in great focus because of lack of flash to show what I am talking about.

is this a problem or just let it go? how long until it starts taking to the rock I have it on?

It is fairly normal. Could be a sign of lack of N in the tank though... What is your nitrate testing at?

If they are bugging you it won't hurt to trim them a bit.

It usually takes a couple of months for anubias to attach itself to rock. It is a slow grower.
