Would love to hear some feedback/tips on what I'm doing. Feel like I'm close as more plants are thriving than not but needs some work.

I'm not sure of some of the names as most were gifted but I'm still in learning process.

Java fern rubber banded to driftwood
Amazon swords
Banana plants
Moss balls
And a couple other I'm not sure of.

I use root tabs for the swords
Api leaf zone once a week 27 ml
C02 Booster 5ml once a week

Lights are Marineland 24" Natural Daylight F18T8NDL
Marineland LED, not sure of specs but will check amazon account and advise.

Average 6-7 hours of light time but living room gets bright during the day. No direct sunlight on the tank.

Nice start so far!

Leaf zone is only potassium and iron so many people use it in conjunction with something like Seachem Flourish Comprehensive. It's not a complete regiment of all the ferts plants need but it's a very solid base to start off on. The co2 booster you can use daily as it tends to dissipate within 12-24 hours. There are other cheaper generic types of carbon supplements you can use instead as well, specifically Metricide.

This is probably the first time this has ever come out of my mouth because I'm personally not a fan of the plant, but that banana looks freakin great.

I'll always hate those banana plants no matter how healthy. In my opinion quite possibly the ugliest plant used in aquariums.

On a plus side though your plants are looking great so you must be doing things right. Good job

Agreed. Makes me want to get one! I hear they don't live long in aquaria though (?)

6 months now and going strong. The smaller one would only sprout short stalks for the longest but just spit out a long one a week ago. First time they've ever done it at the same time.

Thanks.... Now if I can just get the swords to join in on the health craze. But yes, it takes about a week now for a new stalk to appear and reach the top of the tank.

Are you using root tabs on the swords?

Yes I am. (one per 5x5 area) But they aren't really thriving like I want them to. I only light about 6-7 hours a day max. Think I may have let the Amazon go too long without paying enough attention to it. Still trying to save it if I can. Looks like it's a slow melt and not enough healthy stalks to sustain it.

The Brazilian Sword seems to be holding it's own

Do you have pics of the swords? Typically plants sold under the name Brazilian sword are a spathiphyllum species (peace lilies) not an actual sword or aquatic species.

The first pic is the worst of the bunch. Its been in there long enough to have bounced back from implanting stress. Not sure what more I need to do.

They are changing from emersed growth to submersed growth..try placing a root tab at the base of your heavy root feeders, this should help...
