Is this black hair algae or something else ?

I've had a planted tank now for about a year and the plants were growing great. I had an enormous amazon sword which suddenly has black inky looking spots on it. It's not hairy, more spotty. It's also on my Java Fern. I have to clip off leaves quicker than it can regrow them and I'm not sure what do. Appreciate any insights you guys have.

From the picture in the link you provided, it does not look like bba- but I can't really tell. I've found it is kind of hard to identify bba out of water. Can you post a better pic of it in the water?

I added some additional photos. I guess its getting worse. The plant is now half its size. The new growth is pretty nice but these black dots keep spread. Anyone have any ideas ?
