Why is my java fern turning gray? The edges are starting to turn black as well. Is it nutrition or is the plant getting too much light? Also, only one of the leaves on the plant is doing this, the other leaves seem very healthy.

They often blacken at the tip and start growing baby plants along the edges.

Just make sure your Fern's rhizome ( the thick horizontal root ) is NOT buried. I give mine a little Flourish comprehensive and sometimes excel and 6-8 hours of light and I had to pull out wads of extra Ferns on Saturday.

I have to harvest my 5.5g next. Too many Ferns and Mosses. Overgrown !!
