Java Fern Pruning

My Java Fern is growing like crazy and it's taking over a little more space than i'd like it to. Should i go after the older leaves, the younger ones, or whatever will fulfill what i'm trying to get esthetically?

usually i cut the older leaves off simply because they don't look as nice as the new growth but you can cut the rhizome to whatever length or how ever many leaves you want. just dont bury the rhizome and it will be fine.
