I'm going to grow guppies in my 10g hex, and I was wondering if an 8w flourescent bulb is enough light to keep java moss alive.

You need 1 WPG to grow Java moss with success, you have a little less light. But you can give it a try, it will probably stay alive but just won't grow as well as it could with more light.

you can get a 10 watt from walmart for like 5$ i think
