Hello all!

I recently attached a java fern and some java moss to a log of grapewood with some cotton string. How long should I wait before I remove the string? I'm afraid to take it off too early and risk pulling out any of the already-growing rhizomes.

The fern will grow visible roots into the driftwood.

As for the moss, wait until it's time to trim the moss. Hopefully the moss will grow right over the string and you won't have to do anything with it.

i think i've read before that you dont have to worry about it. the string should rot away i think. i have no experience. just what i think i read, lol

the cotton string will break down in the tank over time. by the time it breaks down it should be rooted.
