Jave fern question

Since I have no where else to go, I went to my LFS and picked up some Java fern. The ferns have some brown patches-not spores-on them. I'm not sure what this is caused by can someone tell me?Click image for larger version

It's not a big deal. Some will start growing plantlets at the ends. If not, you can trim off unsightly leaves.

The plantlets will eventually float free. You can trim them free if you don't like how it looks. Make sure they have roots. Then you can trim off damaged original leaf.
