i have 2 different t5 bulbs one is a life glo and is 6700k and my other is a power glo and is 18000k.
i've been having a small prob with green spots of algae. is the power glo the cause?

Probably not the cause, but the power glo is too high a K rating to be beneficial to your plants.

green spot algae is typically a sign of low phosphate levels.

potentially, but you have to be careful, as overdosing will just cause you other problems.

Are you dosing any ferts right now? Running CO2? how big is the tank?

55g
diy c02 (5 2liter bottles)
i have been dosing flourish phosphate, iron and trace twice a week. and nitrate comes right from my faucet

i've dosed what was recommended and i still usually end up testing 0 iron and phosphate. could prob double what the directions say
