Landscaping stones

If I clean off and boil landscaping stones from my yard, can they go in my tank?
 
No need to boil. Just clean real good. Maybe rinse with bleach water to kill any bacteria. Of course it depends on the stones. If you really question it, don't put it in.
 
I would also test it with vinegar. If it fizzes/boils then you don't want to use the rock.

Not necessarily true. Depends on what kind of fish you are keeping. Lime stone will bubble and is great for buffering the ph for african cichlid tanks.
 
i got a limestone rock from lowes for $6, broke it, and i think it looks pretty cool.
 
I have freshwater community tank. Anyway to know for sure? It would look great with what I'm wanting to do.
