I'm using a limewood airstone to diffuse diy co2 from a 2 liter bottle. I'm developing a white film on the airstone. Any ideas on how to prevent this??

It's not really preventable. I get it on mine all the time. I wouldn't worry about it though, it's harmless to the fish. You should have some sort of co2 reactor to dissolve the co2 into the water better, though. Just an airstone is not very effective.

do you have a bubble counter on your co2 line? when the gas bubbles out of the water it leaves behind all the gunk from the co2 there so it doesn't go into your tank.

No I dont have a bubble counter. Any sugg on how to go about making one? I've seen a lot of diff. methods online but have not had any first hand accounts from an aquarium site like this one. Thx all!!
