i felt i should try and help out the people who are new to planted tanks by posting the links that have helped me understand planted tanks. in addition, i hope they will save the veterans some time instead of hearing the same questions over and over again. as soon as you read, understand, and retain the information in these articles, you'll be able to take on just about any planted tank related task. about three weeks ago i didn't know anything about planted tanks, but now i feel very confident in my knowledge about the topic after reading all of these. before you post up a question about setting up a planted tank, or a CO2/lighting question, check through these links and articles first. chances are, you'll find what you're looking for, if not, that's what we're all here on the forum for!
----- ----- -----
http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/articles.htm - excellent list of articles, including a complete description of what a CO2 system does, what components it's made up of, and how to get the most out of it. many other miscellaneous helpful articles, including DIY.

http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/co2/ - this one was made available to me by corvuscorax and was critical in helping me understand the whole CO2 and water chemistry process.

http://rexgrigg.com/aa.htm / http://members.dsl-only.net/~rex/ - rex grigg's aquarium advice. To me, rex is an expert on this subject. he may be blunt, but what he says is the truth, so take heed (meaning, PAY ATTENTION.) Many of the initial questions people have can be answered in this wide-ranging page. topics include lighting, substrates, fertilizers, testing, CO2, water chemistry, cycling, and hardware.

http://www.floridadriftwood.com/aquarium_plant_info.html - 3 pages of well written articles dealing with design, lighting, plant growth basics, nutrients, filtration, and algae.

http://www.vectrapoint.com/main/infocentral.html - deals mostly with design, but has many other info-packed FAQs and articles.

hopefully you can find what you're looking for in those pages. luck.

Great post, all of those sites have alot of info on planted tanks, and other aquaria informations.

Everyone please note that my FAQ is now located at www.rexgrigg.com I will not be maintaining the old FAQ beyond this point. It's a much easier URL for everyone to remember.

i added both, just in case

lol...i like the link to barney. personally, i would made the link direct towards the tampax product site, but that's just me...

You know I really don't need help being the way I am  In fact Mr Burns send me an email and I will email you the sound clip I almost linked to the page.

Thanks for taking the time to research and post the links Mr Burns.

Ditto Rex for all the info you've made available. Big help guys!!!!! :D

Dare I say the link to "Barney" was posed for Plant Geek's administrators. I'm still cracking up on that one. I like the smokin cigar too. Rex, you bad.
