Could anyone give me a quick run down of low light plants? I would like to start a discus tank and i would like to have several plants in with them as they like that, but they also need low lighting. Also, if anyone could give me advice on drift wood options?? THANKS

Swords, crypts, anubias, marimo moss balls and mosses are great for low light. In some instances, dwarf sag, vals, and hydrocotyle sp. Japan.
I like Malaysian dw, and manzanita. Mopani is okay. Just boil the heck out of it because it leaches a lot of tannins.

Tannins are tannic acid, so yes they reduce ph but tint the water brown like tea

Nope, you would need some type of chemical filtration. Carbon works but very very slowly. Purigen works well, but normal filtration won't
