back in june for kicks I put a couple three small little cuttings of ludwigia repens (only around 3 inches) in my moms pond to see if it would grow and even see if it would bloom. I put it in there and let it run its course. it didn't bloom but it went a little wild. longest piece is over 2 ft. turned into a pretty impressive little clump. I thought it had died since we have had some pretty cold weather but it lived. I just this evenin grabbed it out and its just floating in the tank (55g) but a pic is enclosed. tomorrow is tank day so I apologize if my tank looks a little unkept. too bad the few stems of wisteria didn't take off and died on me.

Interesting! Make sure the pond doesn't have any outflow! You don't want to introduce new species!
