Marimo moss bass

Hi,
just wondering if anyone knows if marimo moss balls can be pulled apart/cut up and still thrive? I know mosses like java moss can be but I have read mixed reviews online about marimo moss balls? Thanks

Yes, I have a few misshapen one from pulling them apart but they are doing great.

Yes I used one as a carpet to target feed my puffer. It did fine.

That's great, I will be using it in the waterfall I made in my turtle tank to cover the drift wood so won't be fully submerged but the flowing water will stop it drying out
