I purchased some micro sword, apparently they are a Mystery snail delicacy but that's off topic :) . . . my question how do I get them to spread out? I have lots of "tendrils" coming off of them (pics below), am I supposed to do something with those? Advice?

OK, not sure if these pics are what you're looking for, about as good as I can get. These are in the 46g.

They look like they have a point that could sprout roots if that's what you mean by beads.

Are you sure that it's coming from the micro swords and not something that hitchhiked in? Can you trace the back to the origin?

I never thought it'd be from a different plant. I put them in 4 different tanks & each is doing it. If you pull on any of the tendrils you'll pull up the sword patch & they're no where else in any of the tanks except coming out of the micro sword patches, well they're supposed to be micro sword.

Try and trace on to its root to see if its coming off of a microsword or not. I'm thinking it might be a bladderwort of some sort that got in there.

Hmmm, not what I expected to hear. OK, I'll check that out. I'll do some research on that I've never heard of it.
