min height to keep plants?

as you might know im building a paludarium and i didnt know what the min height for amazon (above water) plants would be. this is because i didnt know how high i could make the water side
if you dont understand the question please write how i could make it clearer

Sorry but I am completely unfamiliar with paludariums and thus have refrained from commenting.
Most of us are only concerned with 100% submersion of the plants.

You might try www.plantedtank.com - its specifically for aquatic plants, and they get much deeper into it than we can here.
