Hello was just wondering if its possible to have a moss carpet on the floor of my tank. I don't want java. But I really don't to start getting into co2 and dirt, any way of doing it straight onto gravel ?

When it comes down to it, moss is just another plant. You need to provide the essential for it to grow well (carbon, light, and other inorganic ferts). Moss is somewhat unique in that it can survive in lower light, lower nutrient conditions, but the best moss samples you see are usually grown in fairly rich environments.

It's usually a bad ideal to try to grow moss directly onto substrate. The most common method is to grow it onto stainless steel meshes that are placed directly onto the substrate.
