I have always loved the look of plant carpets, so I have decided to try one out in my 29 gallon with the large portion of Java Moss I have. To open up some space, I took out my mopani wood. Then I split up the Java Moss and laid it thinly around the open space like so:

I am hoping for it to thicken and fill in the empty spaces, basically.

The lighting on my 29 is not very good at all, but I figure it is enough to make Java Moss grow. The light is a Penn-Plax FL-20 18 watt fluorescent. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

greetings.

lighting conditons doesn't just affect if plants can survive, but also how they grow. usually strong lightning makes for a more compact plant, and low lightning means the plant does what it can to grow tall, and thus not compact at all. i am not sure if this includes java moss, as i havn't read on it. but i hope you the best!

sincerely,
nereksnad
