I just created a half gallon planted tank. I used fluval stratum substrate. the light is a fluval 13w. no co2 and no filter or airration. will this grow any plants such as anacharis or should I get an airstone? this is on my nightstand.

You might get green slime algae from lack of water movement. I think surface agitation is a must. Lots of water changes too. Co2 might be needed with so much light. I tried a 1 gallon bowl heavily planted twice and it never worked, I always got too much algae.
