Need help for carpet plant

Been looking into the DSM method but I've read everywhere that when flooding the plants tend to melt if you do not use enough c02. I do not have a pressurized c02 system so was wondering what the possibilities of my plants not melting on a DIY are I can set up 2 c02 systems with 2 separate glass ceramic diffusers. Apart from that I also read tht white mold may grow on the plants during the time it is in the dry stage and it will kill off your stock. How can I prevent this? And lastly how easy will the carpet e to maintain once it is flooded and stable? Do I need to keep the high doses of c02?

What size tank are we talking about? That will determine how effective a DIY system would be on your setup. On tanks of under around 30 gallons, it is easy to maintain high CO2 levels with a DIY system if you keep up with mixture changes.

What kind of carpet are you growing? UG? HC? How much CO2 you will need will depend on what plants you are trying to grow, and what kind of lighting you are using.

As for preventing mold, I haven't heard anyone actually have that problem in their tank, though I suppose it is possible.

DHG carpet. 10 gallon tank. Using the DSM method. I've chosen timberline top soil for the substrate
