I don't know how to prune my western milfoil plant (Myriophyllum hippuroides). I don't know if there is a specific area that I should or should not cut or something. Also, I want to get other milfoils from my existing one and I don't know how to do that. Any advice? so thanks, your advice would be greatful.

prune at the internode - where the leaf/frond grows off the main stem. use something sharp.

Replant the top that you cut off...now you have two milfoils.

Are you sure cause that part is very small. So basically I am cutting off a leaf at it's "root" and putting it into the substrate to grow? Is that right? I don't want to harm my plant, so I want to be very sure, 100%, if you have an pictures that will definitely help. Thank you for posting your advice.
