Need help with Alternanthera Reineckii

I made my girlfriend a wabi-kusa style paludarium from Valentine’s Day and at first the plants seemed doing well and growing. Then the AR’s leaves started curling up, which is upsetting her. During this time, we were trying to spray seachem flourish liquid fert and flourish excel (to prevent unwanted algae/mold) diluted in water but we don’t think it’s working.

What I’m hoping is that the plants are switching to an immersed form, but what’s weird is that they were bought from petco growing in a gel cup, which is technically immersed right? The other plants that are look fine are anubias nana petit, a crypto, and bucephalandra.

Your help is appreciated!
