If i want around 5 plants is gravel fine as my substate or do i need something else. TIA

it would be better if u use sand but gravel will work

I recommend you use eco-complete or flourite, but gravel will work.
Also, is this your first time keeping plants?
What is your lighting?
What plants do you plan to keep?
Will you use CO2?
What fertilizers will you use?
What fish will you keep with the plants?

In my old 44 gallon that was FW I would keep on plant at a time but the fish would eat it then I would buy more and they would still eat it. I have a regular 15 wtt light. I dont plan on using CO2 because I only want about 5 plants. I dont know any thing about ferlizers is there a sight that i could read about plants. I plan on keeping some neon tetras and possibly a dwarf puffer.
